This collection of poems is inspired by my book The Corporate Kid, astory about the unlikely intertwining of two worlds...that of a wealthymiddle-aged Caucasian CEO and that of a low-income African-Americanadolescent from the "hood"; it's a story of how easy it is to end up down awrong path, and yet how simple it can be to turn in the right the direction, regardless of one's economic status...and the ripple effect each person'sactions have in the world around them. It also makes a case for the potentialof anyone, regardless of their age, societal status, or economic class, tobecome one of the "MLK"s or "Ghandi"s of the world, leading othersthrough example and acting as a catalyst for positive change by virtue ofnever wavering from acting on whatever may be "the right thing to do."This poetry collection is part of a movement of "Corporate Kid" projectsdesigned to encourage the real low-income ethical "Corporate Kid'sout there who are coming into their own, and help the up and cominggenerations improve their odds of achieving virtuous instead of greed-drivensuccess. Some of the many other creative and philanthropic spin-offs ofthe book which are in development, include a feature-lengthed movie, music, and programs to give ethical kids a share of stock and a chanceto join the legitimate successful business world. In this age of corporatebail-outs, Occupy Wall protests, a diminishing middle class, and an everwideningeconomic gap between Americans, I hope that "The CorporateKid" movement will positively inspire Americans. For full impact, thesepoems are best spoken aloud, to fully appreciate the sense of urgency they convey. Nicole's poetry rattles the fonts and the letterswith a primal cry to show the world that every child in America deserves an equalopportunity to succeed.Neil Shulman, M.D., author of The Corporate Kid
