Star Wars Day is observed by fans of George Lucas' Star Wars, and is celebrated on May 4th. The date was taken from the movie catchphrase "May the Force be with you". Although never officially sanctioned by Lucas, observance of this day spread quickly among Star Wars fans across the world, and has now been embraced by Lucasfilm as the annual celebration of Star Wars.
