What is NewsBank?
NewsBank is a provider of web-based resources, research tools, and programs for K-12 schools. These materials are available from Follett Library Resources and are designed to:
- Support a wide variety of state and national curriculum standards
- Connect classroom learning to the real world
- Provide easy access to a wide variety of materials
- Help students develop critical thinking skills
- Encourage reading and writing in a wide variety of content areas
- Make learning more engaging and relevant to the real world
NewsBank offers a number of different resources for K-12 schools. Here are the highlights of their most popular offerings, all of which are updated daily.
In addition, NewsBank offerings provide access to its Teacher/Librarian Resources center, which includes a Training and Support Center to make sure your school makes the most of NewsBank, a Big6™ Resource Center to help you develop research and critical thinking skills in your students, and a State Educational Standards section that helps connect NewsBank materials to the appropriate state standard.
